Chip Ganassi Racing’s defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda lived up to his Iceman nickname in Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg. Starting the race from ninth he came through the field to finish in fifth place and speaking following the race he said that the start to his season has been ok, it has been a bit blah to be honest.
Dixon said that the team did a great job in Barber last weekend but that they were a bit off this weekend and weren’t able to get the car in the performance window.
The Iceman went on to say that the team seemed to struggle for outright pace during the event. Dixon heads to Texas next weekend in third in the championship, on 65 points, equal with Team Penske’s Will Power.
