Meyer Shank Racing’s new driver, Marcus Armstrong, heads into the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES, ready to hit the ground running with the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding just over two months away.
The New Zealander joins Felix Rosenqvist from Chip Ganassi Racing, having made his full-time debut in INDYCAR with CGR in 2024, driving the No.11 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda.
Speaking to the SpeedFreaks podcast with Conor Daly recently, Armstrong said that while he may be joining a new INDYCAR SERIES team, he will retain the crew he had with Chip Ganassi Racing for 2025 thanks to Meyer Shank Racing’s technical partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing, similar to the one Shank had with Andretti Technologies.
Armstrong revealed that Angela Ashmore will continue as his race engineer in 2025. This is great news for the New Zealander, who has a wealth of experience. Ashmore was part of Marcus Ericsson’s team when the Swede won the Indianapolis 500 in the No.8 Huski Chocolate Honda in 2022.
