Chip Ganassi Racing announced on Wednesday that Max Chilton will remain in the No.8 Gallagher sponsored car for the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

The news means that the team will field an unchanged line-up of Max Chilton, Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Charlie Kimball which could prove to be crucial when it comes to their new partnership with Honda and with a season of competition under his belt already, Chilton is in a perfect position to take the positives from his rookie season in 2016 and build on them for 2017.

Ganassi also have the experienced drivers of Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Charlie Kimball who between them are one of the most experienced drivers in the series which will be key in Honda getting up to speed in Ganassi.

Three of Ganassi’s four driver’s will drive the Honda powered car for the first time on Friday at Sebring as Tony Kanaan carried out a successful shakedown test of the Honda power unit in October.
