W Series driver Sabre Cook says that her aim is to compete in the NTT IndyCar Series. Speaking to Paddock Eye on Tuesday evening, the Colorado native who returned to the US at the end of the 2019 season says that she has spoken to a number of IndyCar teams about the possibility of racing for them but that she understands that it will be a while before this happens as she needs to compete in Indy Lights first.
Cook will once again compete in the W Series in 2021, which this year have partnered with Formula One and Cook believes that this gives her a great platform to show what she can although the NTT IndyCar Series is her aim and not Formula One.
When asked about her favourite race track, Cook said that she enjoyed racing at Brands Hatch with the W Series in 2019 and of the circuits she has yet to compete on she chose the legendary Spa Francorchomps circuit in Belgium and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Cook also spoke about her time in the Renault Infinti engineer programme saying that she learnt a lot from that in terms of driving a road car but that it was also interesting to see how the engineer team works.
Paddock Eye asked Cook about her thoughts on the Aersoscreen that was introduced by the NTT IndyCar Series last year and she said that she has heard that it can get very hot in the cockpit but that she is all for anything that improves driver safety.
