Indiana coffee company Copper Moon Coffee confirmed on Monday that they have entered into a partnership with Verizon IndyCar Series team Schmidt Peterson Motorsports as the Indianapolis outfit’s official coffee provider.
The deal which runs through 2018 will see the Copper Moon Coffee logo appear on the cars of both James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda and Mikhail Aleshin’s No.7 SMP Racing Honda. Speaking following the announcement, Brad Gutwein, CEO of Copper Moon Coffee commented by saying:
Our core values of integrity, trust and hospitality pair well with the values we have seen exhibited by our friends at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. “We are pleased that our perfectly roasted, single origin world coffees will help fuel the SPM team with a win every morning and win in every race.
The news comes just days after Schmidt Peterson confirmed a renewal of their partnership with Petro-Canada, James Hinchcliffe’s personal sponsor and the contract extension of Mikhail Aleshin.
The announcement also comes after the Indianapolis based outfit realigned it’s operation with the winding up of their Indy Lights programme in order to focus solely on the Verizon IndyCar Series.
Speaking about the new partnership with Copper Moon Coffee, team co-owner Sam Schmidt commented by saying:
The people and product at Copper Moon encapsulate the same values that we, as a team, all appreciate and try to model on a daily basis. “Our entire team is very excited about this new partnership; there tends to be a lot of early mornings in our sport, and their love for coffee knows no bounds. We’re very happy to have Copper Moon on board, and we look forward to a great partnership and great coffee.
