McLaren CEO Zak Brown has confirmed that the team will do everything they can to get Stoffel Vandoorne a seat in another racing category after the Belgian was dropped by the McLaren F1 programme in favour of Lando Norris for the 2019 season.
Could the move mean that Vandoorne could join Fernando Alonso and McLaren in IndyCar in 2019?
It is unlikely that McLaren will want to cut ties completely with Vandoorne and having a two car full time IndyCar programme would help the team progress in their debut season in IndyCar should the team decide to enter IndyCar full-time next season.
Brown has confirmed that the team will make a decision over their IndyCar plams this month.
Fernando Alonso will test a 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series Andretti Autosport Honda at Barber Motorsports Park tomorrow (Wednesday).
