NTT IndyCar Series team owner Dale Coyne has revealed that his outfit will announce their second driver next week ahead of their three days of testing.

Speaking during an IndyCar Series Zoom conference call on Wednesday where it was announced that Ed Jones who made his debut with the team in 2017 will return to their set up this year driving the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda with Jimmy Vasser and James Sulli Sullivan, Coyne said that the team will be ready for the new season.

Coyne was asked if former Formula One driver Romain Grosjean is in the running for the seat alongside Jones to which Coyne said that the team have spoken with hundreds of drivers over the off-season and confirmed that he would be happy if Romain Grosjean was in the team.

Paddock Eye understands however that it is increasingly unlikely that Grosjean will commit to a full time IndyCar Series programme given that he does not want to race on ovals due to safety concerns.
