AJ Foyt Racing head to the IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen this weekend having moved some of their crew to their base in Indianapolis.
The team decided that following Hurricane Harvey in Texas that they would send their cars and a 13 man crew to Indianapolis to prepare for Watkins Glen.
Team president Larry Foyt said that naturally it has been a difficult time for the team who have family in Texas dealing with the flooding.
Conor Daly heads to Watkins Glen looking to build on the momentum of his strongest result of the season to date last time out in Illinois where he finished fifth.
Obviously coming off St. Louis, we all are feeling good and I’m just excited to get back to work. Watkins Glen is one of the best tracks on the schedule and it provides some incredible speeds/racing. The aim for the weekend is just to continue developing our car setup and finding speed one tenth of a second (or more) at a time. Hopefully we can find ourselves in the top five again by the end of the weekend.”
Carlos Munoz is looking forward to one of his favorite tracks and speaking ahead of the race he said:
Watkins Glen has become one of my favorite tracks even though I raced there for the first time last year. It should be really interesting after another weekend where we finished in the top 10 (at Gateway). I think the Chevrolet package is going to be really good at the Glen. We have to continue to progress and finish the season on a high level. Our goal is to keep digging to get more top-10 finishes.”
