Harding Racing’s Conor Daly gave the Main Street, Speedway, Indiana based outfit their best result of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season to date in Toronto on Sunday.
Starting the race from 11th place on the grid having made it into the Firestone Fast Six and he had a great Sunday warm up ending the session inside the top ten and in the 85 lap race he had a great event.
The Indiana native finished the race in 13th place and is currently in Mid-Ohio with his team mate Gabby Chaves for a full-field test ahead of next weekend’s Honda Indy 200.
Speaking following Sunday’s race, Daly commented by saying:
I just want to thank Harding Racing and Chevy for this opportunity. “It’s so nice to be back in a car. We have identified some issues we need to resolve on full fuel loads and hopefully we can do that moving forward at the Mid-Ohio test. I think we had good race pace. I got shoved into the wall a few times, which I didn’t really like, but it is what it is. I could have used a bit more cooperation from the #18 car as he was a few laps down. But anyway, I’m just so thankful to be back out here. We made a lot of progress technically this weekend, so hopefully that helps the team in the future.
Chaves who is contracted with Harding Racing for 2019 will be back racing for the team in the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio next time out.
