Verizon IndyCar Series driver Conor Daly is hoping that he will be back of the grid in 2018 as he trying to put a deal in place to return to Dale Coyne Racing.

The American was dropped by AJ Foyt Racing at the end of the 2017 season and with most of the full-time drives now taken up for next season the only full-time drive available in the Verizon IndyCar Series is the seat alongside Sebastien Bourdais at Dale Coyne Racing.

Following Ed Jones departure from Coyne to Ganassi for 2018 a seat has become available at Dale Coyne Racing.

Daly drove for Coyne in 2016 and secured a podium finish in Detroit when he finished in second place behind Sebastien Bourdais. Daly knows Honda, and knows Dale Coyne Racing and how the team works.

Esteban Gutierrez could also be in the running for the drive alongside Bourdais.
