AJ Foyt Racing’s Conor Daly says he is excited to return to Detroit in June for the Verizon IndyCar Series double header weekend, the Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix presented by Lear.
The race has fond memories for Daly as he picked his very first podium finish here in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Dale Coyne Racing.
Daly who was in Michigan to throw out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday has returned to Aj Foyt Enterprises, the team he made his Verizon IndyCar Series debut with at the 2013 Indianapolis 500.
In the opening race of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, Daly finished the race in 15th place.
At last weekend’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Daly finished the race in 16th place.
The American is confident however that once he and the team gel the results will come their way.
The Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix presented by Lear takes place on June 2-4 just days after the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil. For ticket information visit – http://www.detroitgp.com
