Carlin Racing’s Conor Daly in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet has staked his claim to a full time return to the NTT IndyCar Series in 2020.
The Indiana native came from 18th on the grid to finish the race in 6th place giving Carlin their best finish of the season to date.
Daly has spent most of the 2019 season between Carlin and Andretti Autosport and has driven extremely well throughout the year.
At the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in May, Daly finished the race in 10th place.
Daly will return to Andretti Autosport for the final race of the year, the double points Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on September 22nd.
As for his plans in 2020? Daly says that he is taking it one step at a time.
Paddock Eye understands that Daly has been approached by McLaren Racing SP about driving alongside James Hinchcliffe for 2020.
