Day 2 of our 12 best moments of IndyCar 2018 was the return to Jimmy Vasser and James Sulli Sullivan to the Verizon IndyCar Series in partnership with Dale Coyne Racing to field the No.18 Honda for Sebastien Bourdais.
The partnership which was announced on February 5, 2018 immediately bared fruit with Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing starting the race from 14th place with Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda.
The Frenchman came through the field to claim his Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg win a row.
It was also Jimmy Vasser and James Sulli Sullivan’s first race as team owners following the closure of their team KVSH Racing which ceased racing at the end of the 2016 season however their partner Kevin Kolkohoven is not involved in the partnership with Dale Coyne.
The win was an emotional one for Bourdais as most of his crew worked with him at KVSH Racing but it was also his first victory following his horrendous accident during qualifying for the 2017 Indianapolis 500.
