Day 6 of our 12 best moments of IndyCar in 2018 was the return of Danica Patrick to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Patrick announced in 2017 that she would retire from Motor racing and end her career with a return to the Brickyard one last time.

Team owner and driver Ed Carpenter signed Patrick to drive the No.13 Chevrolet.

Patrick got back up to speed very quickly despite not driving an IndyCar for the first time since 2011.

Patrick started the most famous motor race in the world from seventh place but unfortunately was forced to retire from the race after hitting the wall.

Patrick’s return to IndyCar was huge not just for the sport but for all sports and although she retired from the race, her return can be deemed a success.
