The Verizon IndyCar Series may be at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama however that hasn’t stopped other venues getting ready for their race.
The Detroit Grand Prix which takes place in Belle Isle from June 3 – 5 tweeted that construction has begun on the road course at the Belle Isle Raceway.
The Chevrolet Duel In Detroit hosts two races with the first being held on Saturday and the second race on Sunday. In 2015, Carlos Munoz took victory in Race 1 in an Andretti Autosport 1-2 with team mate Marco Andretti in second place and Simon Pagenaud finishing third for Team Penske.
In Race 2, Sebastien Bourdais took victory for KVSH Racing just ahead of Takuma Sato’s No.14 AJ Foyt Racing Honda with Graham Rahal finishing the race in third place.
