Global logistics form DHL will mark 50 years in business at the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season finale and championship deciding Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca next weekend with a special livery for Ryan Hunter Reay’s No.28 DHL Honda.
DHL, a long standing partner to Andretti Autosport and primary sponsor to Hunter Reay was set up in 1969 in San Francisco by three entrepreneurs, Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn.
Speaking about the special livery, CEO of DHL Express Americas Mike Parra said:
The special 50th anniversary car livery is an exciting way for us to commemorate the international heritage of DHL, and our successful partnership with Andretti. “Our journey has been remarkable, hatched by three American visionaries who started an innovative enterprise and tested new markets around the globe. The world is changing fast, and we are excited to take the lead in international logistics to usher in the next 50.”
DHL have a long history of involvement in motorsport beyond their partnership with Andretti Autosport as they were once title sponsor to the Jordan Grand Prix team and are the official logistics partner to Formula One and are also involved in the FIA Formula E championship.
Speaking about their partnership, Ryan Hunter Reay who drives the No.28 DHL Honda commented saying:
DHL has given me a home at Andretti Autosport, and over the years the employees and customers of DHL have become like a family to me. “It’s an honor to carry the historic DHL colors and represent the brand as they celebrate such an important milestone.
