Former Force India Formula One and DTM driver Paul Di Resta is on the verge of being named Williams Martini Racing Team’s new test and reserve driver ahead of the start of the 2016 Formula One season.
BBC Sport report that DiResta who currently races for Williams engine supplier Mercedes Benz in the German Touring Championship will remain in the DTM alongside his new position with the Williams Martini Racing Team.
Di Resta drove in Formula One with the Sahara Force India Formula One Team from 2011 – 2013 has most recently been involved in the sport as a pundit for Sky Sports F1 HD.
It is expected that the deal will announced next week in the build up to the season opening Australian Grand Prix. If as expected the is confirmed Di Resta would replace his former Force India team mate Adrian Sutil who has left the Grove based outfit and Formula One to pursue other interests.
