Chip Ganassi Racing’s Managing Director Mike Hull says that Scott Dixon drove with patience and poise during the entire 70 laps of race one in Detroit on Saturday to take his first win of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series.

Speaking on Twitter, Hull commented by saying:

The two stop strategy allowed the Iceman to keep his cool and take his first win since Road America last season. Dixon now finds himself in second place in the championship just four points behind leader Alexander Rossi following three podium finishes in the last three races, a second at the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis, a third place last weekend at the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil and his win in Detroit today.
