Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda who finished Wednesday’s action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in fourth place had an engine failure on his final run of the day.
The No.9 crew got the engine changed overnight, however, Dixon, who is currently sixth in the championship will have a nine place grid penalty for the Detroit Grand Prix.
The reason for the penalty is due to the fact that the No.9 PNC Bank Honda is on their fifth engine for the season when four is the maximum for the season.
