Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon says it is frustrating that the Iceman is starting Saturday’s Sonsio Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course from 16th. Dixon set a fastest time of eighth place after missing out on a place in the Firestone Fast 12.

Following the session, Dixon said it is frustrating that he just missed out, as he feels pretty good but is unsure what the issue is. While Dixon was frustrated, his teammate Alex Palou ended the Fast 12 fastest and will likely start the race from pole.

Dixon goes into Saturday’s race 92 points behind Palou, leading the championship following a speedy start to the season for Spainard. The driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Honda starts the race deep in the field, so look for him to make his way through the field in Saturday’s race.

It is even more frustrating for Dixon as both Alex Palou and Kyffin Simpson made it into the Firestone Fast 12
