Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon says that being at the front in INDYCAR is all about execution. Speaking about the upcoming season at Content Day, the driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Honda joked that the end of the season was s###. There is a lot of change within the team for this season, and the Iceman says that going for his seventh championship will be tough but that they have a great team around them.

Speaking to Paddock Eye, Dixon said that the race he wants to win is the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, presented by RP Funding, which takes place from February 28 to March 2.

Dixon is about to start his 25th season in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and later this season, he will surpass Mario Andretti for the most number of race starts. In 2025, Chip Ganassi Racing has entered into a technical partnership with Meyer Shank Racing and speaking about the day to change within the team, the Iceman told Paddock Eye:

Day-to-day stuff I don’t think will change much. I think at-track presence may be a little bit different just with groups and how they’re structured I think throughout. I think some of those details still haven’t been kind of defined yet.

I think once we get kind of closer to the February test we’ll understand a little bit more to that, but you’re not going to change something that’s working. The team is still wanting championships.

You can kind of take that to a different level on which stand or which group of people that you’re working with on your own, the 9 car or the 10 car or the 8, things like that. There will definitely be some changes I think on that front.

I think as far as how the group works, we’ll stay pretty similar.

Chip Ganassi Racing has trimmed down to three cars for 2025 with Kyffin Simpson in the No.8 Journie Rewards Honda, Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda and defending series champion Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Honda.
