Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda for Andretti Autosport was third fastest just ahead of his team mate Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Chevrolet.
Graham Rahal in the No.15 Fifth Third Bank Homda was fifth with a time of 01:17.2201s ending the morning just ahead of Colton Herta in the No.88 Guess Capstone Honda for Harding Steinbrenner Racing.
Zach Veach in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda was seventh just ahead of Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda. Spencer Pigot was ninth.
Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack Panasonic Honda rounded out the top ten for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Carlin Racing’s Patricio O’Ward was 11th fastest just ahead of Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud and Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais.
Marco Andretti was 14th fastest just ahead of Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet while Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda was 16th just ahead of Tony Kanaan and Indy 500 rookie of the year Santino Ferrucci.
Marcus Ericsson was 19th just ahead of Ed Jones and Felix Rosenqvist while Mathues Matt Leist rounded out the order in 22nd place.
