Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda got his preparations for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil off to a strong start on Monday.
The Iceman completed 41 laps and ended the day in second place behind Andretti Autosport’s Marco Andretti.
Dixon came home in second place in last weekend’s IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis and ending Monday in second place on the speed charts is the perfect start to practice for 101st running of the Indianapolis 500.
Dixon recorded a fastest speed of 225.296mph.
The No.9 will be back in action later today as day 2 of practice gets underway.
