Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon has shown in the first two races of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season that consistency is key to success for him and the his team. In the opening two races of the season the defending series championship has finished on the podium in the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg where he finished in second behind race winner and current points leader Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden.
The Iceman had a tough race in the inaugural IndyCar Classic at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend where he finished the race in 13th place.
Despite the result in COTA, Dixon is third in the championship behind Newgarden and Harding Steinbrenner Racing’s Colton Herta who became the youngest NTT IndyCar Series race winners last time out.
The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama is this weekend and surprisingly is one circuit that Dixon has yet to win at something he is hoping to put right this weekend.
It is going to be interesting to see what happens this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama is live on Sky Sports F1HD.
