Six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon, driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda will become the third most experienced driver of all time on Sunday as he will make his 300th consecutive NTT IndyCar Series start when he lines up on the grid for the Hy-Vee Salute To Farmers 300 presented by Google.
The Iceman scored his 52nd career victory last weekend at the Honda Indy Toronto as the NTT IndyCar Series returned to Canada for the first time in three years.
All bar one of Dixon’s race wins have come with Chip Ganassi Racing. The New Zealander has also won all of his six titles with Ganassi with his maiden championship win coming in his first season in the series in 2003.
Speaking following his victory in Toronto, Dixon said:
Ended a streak there, which is fantastic. “Just so happy for the team. A crazy year for the 9. The PNC Bank No. 9 back in winner’s circle. It just feels so good.
“To be close to Mario, every time I’m asked these questions, I’m just so thankful that we still have A.J. and him in the pits. We get to see them; we get to talk to them. It’s just fantastic. It’s huge, man. I just feel so lucky to be a part of this group.”
