Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon, driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing, says that the team’s experience at Texas Motor Speedway has helped him to succeed at the track.
Speaking to Paddock Eye ahead of this weekend’s race in Texas, the Iceman, who has won here five times, says that the team has had a great time in Texas. Dixon also spoke to us about the arrival of Takuma Sato at the team and said that his experience would be key here this weekend and that the one thing that Chip always says is don’t hit your team-mate eluding to the fact that he and Sato have previously come together.
Speaking about NASCAR at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend, Dixon said his commitment is to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, IMSA, and the 24 Hours of LeMans. Still, maybe it is something he might look to for the future, and he confirmed that it could have been a possibility several years ago when Chip had a Cup team.
Dixon was asked about which of his wins at Texas stands out, and he said that 2003 when he won the championship, was great, but he says that the main aim is getting the next one.
Speaking about the start of the season, having a 1,3,8, and 11 is a great result for the team, given the rate of attribution in the race.
