Reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon has confirmed that will pilot the No.9 Chip Ganassi Racing team Chevrolet for years to come.
Dixon’s comments come after it was confirmed on Wednesday that long-term Ganassi partner and primary sponsor to the New Zealander’s No.9 car, Target will leave the Verizon IndyCar Series at the end of this season.
As far as the three time series champion is concerned nothing has changed and he commented by saying:
I’m looking forward to being in the 9 car for years to come and fighting for more wins and championships with Chip and the team.
The partnership doesn’t end until the end of the season which means that Dixon and Target still have plenty of time, five races to add to the 101 race wins that Target and Chip Ganassi Racing have had together and will be hoping that he can add to his tally at Mid-Ohio this weekend where he is the most successful Verizon IndyCar Series driver where he has won five times most recently in 2014.
