Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda goes into next weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series season finale Grand Prix of Sonoma leading the championship by 29 points from second placed Alexander Rossi.
There are double points on offer in Sonoma and if the Iceman scores his fourth win of the season he will end the season with a 106 point lead over the second placed driver.
Dixon goes into the weekend in a very good position due to his points gap to Alexander Rossi however the Iceman is taking nothing for granted as last time out in Portland shows.that absolutely anything can happen in the Verizon IndYCar Series and this is why it is one of the most exciting racing series in the world.
Scott Dixon was involved in an accident a Turn 3 which he thought took him out of the race and ended his championship hopes however that was far from the case. After getting back on track, the Iceman fought his way back to finish the race in fifth place and crucially ahead of his main championship rival Alexander Rossi.
