Verizon IndyCar Series championship leader Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing says he would like to see the series venture out to new venues overseas.
The four time series champion who is on course to his fifth title this year with just four races remaining, the Iceman has a 46 point lead in the championship over Alexander Rossi in second place says he would like to see the series go to the Middle East or Australasia.
Speaking to the IndyCar website, Dixon said:
I think more tracks, a bigger schedule and more overseas races. “I think we definitely need to get to Asia, the Middle East and even Australasia. There are many good options out there, it’s just trying to find the right fit.
Paddock Eye understands that Dixon is set to extend his contract with Chip Ganassi Racing for another two to three years with the deal just needing some ironing out before it is officially announced.
