The organiser of the Dutch Grand Prix organiser Jan Lammers has suggested the possibility of running Grand Prix midweek just like the UEFA Champions League.

Lammers said that it would be a way to get more races completed and instead of the events being three days they would instead be two day races and this would help with the logistics of getting the Formula One circus from venue to venue.

Lammers has also suggested that venues such a Portimao in Portugal which has a Formula One hosting licence and fits the FIA safety standard to fill the void of events that have been cancelled.

Formula One still plans to have 15-18 Grand Prix in 2020 and having race midweek would help fit in as many races as possible.

The opening nine Grand Prix of the season have been either postponed or cancelled due to the global COVID 19 pandemic.
