Ed Carpenter Racing head into the final four races of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season hoping to bounce back from a number of tough events for the team.
Ed Carpenter Racing have scored just two podiums this season, the first of which came at the Indianapolis 500 in May where Carpenter who started the race from pole position came home in second place.
In the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway last month, Spencer Pigot finished the race in second place behind race winner James Hinchcliffe. Speaking about what the team need to do in the final four races, Ed Carpenter said:
“It’s time to get back to where we need to be. It’s been a little bit of a drought, especially for me.”
Carpenter hopes that his team can win at least one of the final four races of the season. Carpenter will be back in the No.20 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet for the next round of the season, the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.
We feel like we’re a race-winning team. We’re going on two years now (without a win). It’s time to get back to where we need to be. It’s been a little bit of a drought, especially for me.
