The Formula One teams are busy testing their new cars at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya this week and today’s action was going on eyes and ears were also on what was happening in Geneva.

Management from the Formula One teams met with the FIA and Bernie Ecclestone in Geneva, Switzerland to try and come up with a rules package for the 2017 season and beyond.

While no unanimous decision was made just yet there is still time for decisions to be made. There is less than a month to go before the start of the 2016 season at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit and one thing that was agreed upon in principal is the idea of an elimination style qualifying as a way of spicing up the show for the fans on Sunday.

The teams have been given time to mull over the idea. The sport has also agreed to bring in a new halo style canopy as a way of protecting the drivers head from the 2017 season onwards in the wake of a study ordered following the death of Jules Bianchi last year.
