Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Marcus Ericsson says his 100% focused and committed to his career in the IndyCar Series and doubts that he will be able to continue in the reserve driver role for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team.

The Swede said that he is already living in America and with eight IndyCar/F1 clashes in 2019 he doesn’t see the point in remaking with the Swiss based outfit.

Ericsson finished his Formula One career last weekend in Abu Dhabi and is already in the US preparing for his IndyCar debut alongside his veteran team mate James Hinchcliffe.

Ericsson said he will sit down with Sauber in the next few weeks to discuss the future as he wants to remain close to the team.
