Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Iced Spritz Chip Ganassi Racing Honda ended the second practice session in Nashville fastest in a rain-delayed and then rain-shortened session. The Swede set the fastest time of 01:33.7999s ending up just ahead of Rinus VeeKay in the No.21 BitNile ECR Chevrolet.
Will Power was third fastest in the No.12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Scott McLaughlin, the No.3 DEX Imaging Team Penske Chevrolet, was fourth just ahead of Marcus Armstrong in the No.11 Ridgeline Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda was sixth, just ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay and Josef Newgarden. Championship leader Alex Palou was ninth, while Agustin Canapino rounded out the top ten for Juncos Hollinger Racing.
Pato O’Ward was 11th for Arrow McLaren, just ahead of Colton Herta and Graham Rahal. Linus Lindqvist had a great session as he ended up in 14th place before bringing out the red flag just at the end after going wide into the run-off area.
Benjamin Pedersen in the No.55 Sexton Properties Chevrolet was 15th just ahead of Devlin DeFrancesco and Callum Ilott while Kyle Kirkwood was 18th just ahead of Santino Ferrucci and Sting Ray Robb who rounded out the top twenty.
Helio Castroneves was 21st just ahead of Jack Harvey and Christian Lundgaard while David Malukas and Felix Rosenqvist rounded out the order. Alexander Rossi and Romain Grosjean didn’t set a time in the session which was shortened by 15 minutes.
