Andretti Global’s Marcus Ericsson says that the 2024 season made the team come together more as a group and that it was a character-building season, but that for this year, he and the team need to be more consistent to be able to challenge for podiums and wins.

Speaking during Content Day, he said that the team needs to do better as a group in 2025. The Swede also clarified reports about a Formula One simulator, which was just a case in which Andretti Global had asked him to look at some simulators for the Cadillac Formula One Team preparing to enter the sport in 2026.

Ericsson also said that when he was at Chip Ganassi Racing, he did better in his second season with the team and feels the same way with Andretti Global. Speaking about the arrival of PREMA Racing from Europe, he says it is very exciting to see them come over to the U.S. He believes they will be mixing it up early in the season and that it is becoming more assertive in Europe.

Ericsson also says that he has spoken to drivers in Europe who feel that INDYCAR is a viable alternative to other forms of racing, such as Formula One.
