Josef Newgarden is feeling fine and has had two weeks to get himself ready for this weekend’s race the Kohler Grand Prix at Road America. Newgarden thanked the medical team with IndyCar who have helped him to get back in the car for this weekend’s event.
Speaking to the IndyCar radio network during Friday’s coverage of the opening practice session Newgarden said that he feeling fine and that he was in the simulator last weekend working on setting up the car for this weekend.
Newgarden has a plate in his collarbone to allow him to go racing as he is in fourth place and wanted to continue the momentum he has been carrying for the last couple of races.
Ed Carpenter Racing have JR Hildebrand at Road America this weekend if Newgarden is not able to continue this weekend. The America will receive a further medical check following today’s practice action as to whether or not he can continue to compete this weekend.
