The Firestone Fast 12 takes place for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge today.
Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda seems to be the drivers to beat.
The Spaniard was fastest on Saturday and it is currently 97 points ahead in the championship over Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood.
Palou set a four-lap average of 233.043MPH.
Last year’s Indianapolis 500 pole sitter Scott McLaughlin was second with a 233.013MPH.
Defending two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden was third fastest just ahead of Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward.
Palou’s teammate Scott Dixon was fifth with a speed of 232.659MPH.
The start of qualifying on Saturday was PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman who was making his first ever oval qualifying session.
David Malukas had a great Saturday as he will go for the pole today.
Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist will be in the Fast 12 and has had a solid season to date, however the Indianapolis 500 is a different beast altogether.
Takuma Sato, who has always been strong here, is in the top twelve.
Marcus Ericsson is the only Andretti in the top 12 while Will Power is also in the top twelve. Christian Lundgaard is also in the top 12.
