Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda has had a tough start to the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

The Iceman started his sesson off well with a second place finish at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding.

Since that podium, Dixon has had a tough season and at the Indianapolis 500 two weeks ago he started the race from fourth but suffered a brake fire on the formation lap and finished multiple laps down.

Last time out in Detroit, Dixon started the race from 16th due to an engine penalty and came home in 11th place.

The New Zealander heads to the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway next time out in seventh in the championship, 138 points behind his teammate and championship leader Alex Palou.

Dixon won at WWTR in 2023, coming through the field from 16th on the grid to claim his 55th career victory.

Alex Palou has had a great season to date and is currently leading the championship by 90 points from second placed Pato O’Ward.

The points deficit between Palou and O’Ward is the same as second through tenth in the championship.

Dixon will at some point later in the season have to serve another grid penalty for another engine change as he is on his fifth engine element for the season.
