The 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season will get underway in February, the earlier start to a season since CART in 2004.
Trackside Online reports that the City of St Petersburg has agreed that the opening race of the year, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg will take place from February 24-27, 2022.
In a tweet, Trackside Online said:
The city council of St. Petersburg, Fla. approved amended dates for the #FirestoneGP in 2022 (Feb. 24 – Feb. 27) and 2023 (March 2 – March 5). This was done for network television purposes. #INDYCAR #RoadToIndy pic.twitter.com/DOM8YqrKRz
