Force India’s deputy team principal Robert Fernley has left the team Paddock Eye has learned.

Fernley who has been with team since 2008 and was running the team on race weekend’s on behalf of former team owner Vijay Mallya.

It is understood that Fernley was informed last week that he would not be part of the new management team at the Silverstone based outfit following their buy-out by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, the father of Williams F1 driver Lance Stroll.

The team are currently processing paperwork for a name change but it is not clear whether or not this paperwork will be filed before this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix.
