Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto says that the Italian company are at least for now no longer looking at entering the NTT IndyCar Series at least in the short term following Formula One’s decision to bring in a budget cap.
The Prancing Horse had been considering moving into the NTT IndyCar Series as early as the 2022 season however the Italian manufacturer have reaffirmed their commitment to returning to the top of Formula One following a number of difficult seasons in the sport.
Ferrari go into the new season with a new driver pairing after Carlos Sainz joined the team replacing Sebastian Vettel who has joined the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team.
Ferrari had an extremely difficult 2020 season, finishing in sixth place in the championship on 131 points. Ferrari have reassigned some of the staff to the Haas F1 Team.
Ferrari had set up an exploratory team into entering the NTT IndyCar Series but this will likely to take place in the next few years.
