The FIA confirmed on Wednesday that they have launched a full investigation into Sebastian Vettel’s behavior at last weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The four time world champion was handed a 10 second stop/go penalty for dangerous driving after he ran into Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes after he believed the triple world champion had brake tested him during the safety car.

The FIA have convened a special meering of the World Motorsports Council on July 3 where they will discuss Vettel’s actions.

It is understood that should the FIA determine his penalty was too lenient Vettel could face a race suspension for the Austrian Grand Prix.
