Dale Coyne Racing’s announced on Tuesday that Luca Filippi will be back racing in the No.19 Honda for this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place with sponsorship from IMPCO-ComfortPro.
IMPCO-Technologies General Manager Bruno Balocco commented by saying:
We’re extremely pleased to be present at this year’s Honda Indy Toronto, Dale Coyne Racing, Luca Filippi and the IndyCar Series offer us the perfect platform to bring additional visibility to our company and to our newly released Electric Auxiliary Power Unit, ComfortPro E. We’ve sponsored Luca in the past and are thrilled to continue that association with him for our home event. He’s had success there before and we hope he can do even better this year.”
This weekend will be Filippi’s third outing at the Honda Indy Toronto and last season the Italian secured his best Verizon IndyCar Series finish where he came home in second place behind team mate Josef Newgarden when the pair were driving for CFH Racing.
Speaking ahead of the race this weekend he commented by saying:
I’m very excited to be back with Dale Coyne Racing this weekend and to have the chance to race in the Honda Indy Toronto again, I want to thank IMPCO Technologies, the ComfortPro team and Dale Coyne for giving me this opportunity. It’s one of my favorite races, not just because I finished on the podium in Toronto last year, but because it’s one of the best events on the schedule and I love to race on street circuits. I can’t wait to get back on track.
Team owner Dale Coyne commented by saying:
We’re happy to have IMPCO join our group of sponsors for this event, IMPCO’s roots go back to the need for faster and more energy efficient cars, much like our very own beginnings at DCR. It was only fitting for us to partner with them, and to bring Luca back for this great event in Canada.
