Andretti Autosport’s Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda says that it was a good final practice for the team ahead of Sunday’s 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which takes place on Sunday. Speaking after setting the seventh fastest speed he commented saying:
“Final practice was good. We checked everything off that was on our list and we were happy with where we ended the day. We’ve got a little bit of an adjustment to make for the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda to be in the perfect condition, but once we do that, I think we’ll be really happy with it. A good final practice before the big day on Sunday and we’re ready to go.”
Kyle Kirkwood had a fantastic Friday as he finished the day in fifth place with a speed of 226.872MPH and speaking following the action he commented saying:
“We’re super happy with the No. 27 AutoNation Honda after Carb Day practice today. We feel like it’s the best car that we’ve had all month and we’re just going to take it, put it back inside the garage and pull it out for Sunday. Usually that’s when things are best, when it’s that easy. I’m super happy with the car – we even headed in about 40 minutes early in the session. With how satisfied we were, we just didn’t think we were gonna get much better than that. I think we’re in a good place for Sunday.”
Romain Grosjean in the No.28 DHL Honda was eighth fastest with a speed of 226.286MPHand speaking following the action he commented saying:
“We had a very good Carb Day. Everything on the No. 28 DHL Honda seems to be working well and we got some good speed out of it. I got some free traffic runs, and overall, the car feels really good. So, let’s see what the conditions are for Sunday and what we have to fine tune for the race, but right now I’m happy where we are.”
Devlin DeFrancesco was 26th and speaking following the action he commented saying:
“With the tire issue we had in practice today, I was happy to keep all four wheels on the No. 29 Sodexo Honda. It was definitely a scary moment, but Firestone and the engineers will dive into it and see what we can do to prevent any issues from happening in the race.”
Marco Andretti ended the day in 19th place and felt that the balance of the car was good and speaking following the action he said:
“The balance is really good, but we just can’t find any speed. I feel like we have less downforce, slow car for the third year in a row. But balance is really good. We are just dog slow with low downforce. We have less downforce than the others and we’re going slower. We’ll dive into all the data and hope we find what we need for Sunday.”
