Firestone Racing will bring more than 1,300 race tires to Pocono Raceway for this weekend’s ABC Supply 500.

Each driver will receive 13 sets of the Firestone Firehawk tire.

The left side construction of the tire is the same as that used for this year’s Indianapolis 500.

The Verizon IndyCar Series have been on a break for the past few weeks however Firestone weren’t as they tested with Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon and Team Penske’s Will Power at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week.

Speaking about this weekend’s ABC Supply 500, Firestone Racing’s chief engineer Cara Adams said:

Keeping with strategy from previous years at Pocono Raceway, the Firestone Race Tire Engineering team has utilized Indianapolis left-side tires and superspeedway right-side tires. “This combination provides the best grip and strength for the three very different turns at the ‘Tricky Triangle.’
