Firestone, the official tire supplier to the Verizon IndyCar Series enter their 16th season as single supplier to the series this weekend with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg. It is the fourth year that Firestone have been the presenting partner of the Grand Prix of St Petersburg.
Chip Ganassi Racing Team’s Tony Kanaan, driving the No.10 NTT DATA Honda this year has raced with Firestone rubber 20 seasons.
This weekend, each Verizon IndyCar Series driver will receive three compounds this weekend with the black walled Primary tire which they will receive seven sets of this weekend.
Drivers will receive four sets of the red Alternate tire, an increase of one set on last year as they will use the extra set in the opening session on Friday.
Drivers will also receive five sets of the Grey walled Rain tire.
