Firestone Racing will bring more than 1,700 race tires to this weekend’s Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Lear.
Each driver will receive nine sets of the Primary tire, four sets of the Alternate tire and seven sets of the wet weather tire. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s race, Chief Engineer with Firestone Racing, Cara Adams commented by saying:
New for Detroit is the introduction of our newly-engineered Firestone Firehawk rain tire. This asymmetric and directional design features a unique pattern on each corner of the car to achieve ultimate water evacuation, braking, acceleration and cornering performance,” said Cara Adams, Chief Engineer, Bridgestone Americas Motorsports. “Racing continues to provide the ultimate proving ground for Firestone technology and this new pattern is our most innovative rain tire to date. We will bring race proven primary and alternate tires, the same used at all street courses in 2018.
