Firestone Racing has brought over 1,400 tires for this weekend’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on Sunday. Each of the 27 NTT INDYCAR SERIES entrants will receive the following allocation.

Primary (black): 6 sets per entry (Rookies receive an extra set for Practice 1)
Alternate (guayule green sidewall): 4 sets per entry
Rain (gray): 5 sets per entry

Cara Krstolic, Director of Race Tire Engineering and Manufacturing,

“The Firestone Firehawk primary tire and alternate guayule tires for the streets of Detroit have the same design, construction, and compound as those we ran at St. Pete and Long Beach races earlier this season and slightly more durable than the ones we had here at last year. The drop off gap between primary and alternate green sidewall tire is expected to be similar to what we saw in the first two street races of the year.
