Firestone Racing will bring more than 1,300 tires to California for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series season finale Grand Prix of Sonoma.
The permanent road course has similar characteristics to Barber Motorsports Park and as a result the Construction of the Alternate compound tire is the same as that used at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this season.
The compound for the Alternate tire is new, but has similar durability to that used in Sonoma last year however in 2018 it provided better grip.
The primary tire is the same construction and compound as was used at Barber Motorsports Park.
Each driver will receive:
- Seven sets of the Primary tire.
- Four sets of the Alternate tire.
- Five sets of the Rain tire.
Speaking ahead of the final race of the season, Chief Engineer with Firestone Racing, Cara Adams commented by saying:
