Firestone Racing have confirmed that they are bringing more than 1,500 tires to this weekend’s Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car course, round 13 of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

Each entry will get:

  • Seven sets of the PRIMARY tire

The construction of the Primary tire on both the left front, right front, right rear and left rear is the same as the 2017 Indy GP.

The compound of the Primary tire on the both the left front, right front, right rear and left rear is the same as the 2017 Indy GP and the 2016 Mid-Ohio race. The Primary tire is the one with the black side wall.

The construction of the Alternative tire is the same as the 2017 Indy GP with increased grip and has greater heat resistance of the 2016 Mid-Ohio race.

The compound is the same as the 2017 Indy GP.

The rain tire is the same construction and compound as 2016/17. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s race, Chief engineer with Bridgestone Americas Motorsports, Firestone Racing’s Cara Adams commented by saying:

Firestone Racing engineers are happy to be back at Mid-Ohio, a track just 70 miles away from our Bridgestone Americas Technical Center in Akron. “For this year’s Honda Indy 200, the Firestone Firehawk primary tires have the same construction and compound as this year’s Indy Grand Prix tire. This is the same compound that was run at Mid-Ohio last year. The red sidewall alternates also are the same tires that were used on the Indy road course, but the compound has a slight increase in grip and heat resistance over last year’s Mid-Ohio compound.
